Anne of Green Gables2

Hi! How was your day?

Today I read chapter 10 and chapter 11.

Anne never had real friends before living at Green Gables, so she was forced to invent imaginary playmates. In Avonlea, she meets Diana Barry. She is a neighbor, and Diana and Anne quickly becomes a bosom friend. Besides, they swear to be friends forever each other. Afterwards, Anne enters the school, but Gilbert Blythe, handsome and smart boy, calls her Carrots and pulls her red braid. Anne is extremely sensitive about her red hair, and Gilbert’s teasing enrages her. Eventually, she screams at him and smashes him on the head with a slate!

0ne day, Anne invites Diana to tea. However, she accidentally gives her red currant wine instead of raspberry cordial. Diana returns home with intoxicated, and her mother thinks Anne made Diana drink on purpose. Therefore, she forbids them to speak.

I think that mothers cannot judge objectively when it comes to their children. Therefore, Diana’s mother forbid them to speak without listening to Anne’s saying.

Anne of Green Gables1

Hi, guys. How was your weekend?

Because I finished reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid last week, I started to read a new book. The title is “Anne of Green Gables”. It was so interesting that I have read from chapter 1 to chapter 9. I have watched this live-action movie, so I have known it roughly. Because of this, I can read it easily.

Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert are unmarried siblings. They live on their ancestral farm, Green Gables in Canada. Since Matthew is getting too old to handle the farm on his own, they decide to adopt an orphan boy to help him. He arrives at the train station and finds a girl orphan instead of a boy. The orphanage sent the eleven-year-old Anne Shirley by mistake. Anne is a talkative and happy girl although she leaded a poor life as an orphan. Especially, she is so imaginative and likes to fantasy various things. Her character fascinate Matthew, and he shyly tells Marilla that he wants to keep her. Marilla hesitates at first, but after a trial period, she agrees to let Anne stay on.

The most impressive thing in these chapters was that Anne emphasize “E” when she introduce her name.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Third Wheel5

Hi! How was today?

Anyway, today let’s go back to where we left, so I’m going to write the rest of story.
Do you remember what I told last week? Thanks to Greg’s help, his friend, Rowley were elected the president of their school. So I’ll tell you from this.
The first meeting was held in the teacher’s lounge. The subject of this meeting was about toilet paper. That means the teachers had been treating themselves to good toilet paper, PILLOW-SOFT ULTRA TOILET PAPER, while the students use cheap one. So members of the student council confronted Mrs. Birch. She said that even though the teachers use PILLOW-SOFT ULTRA there’s not enough money in budget to stock all the student’s bathrooms with expensive toilet paper, but she agree to a compromise. She said the school could allow students to bring in their OWN rolls from home! So that serious problem was solved.
Everything probably would’ve been just fine, but at lunch someone threw a roll of toilet paper at somebody else, and within about fifteen seconds it was total madhouse!
Finally, the teachers did away with this solution. So it didn’t last long time.

It was really funny story!! I chuckled again and again. Especially, Mrs. Birch’s idea was so cool.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid : The Third Wheel4

Hi, guys. Today I read Greg's school activities.
Greg's school has a big event. It's an election which elects the president of the student council. He helped his friend Rowley because Rowley wanted to be it. Greg came up with a lot of ideas. For example, like sports games, all students in the stand wear his hand made T-shirts which are painted their chests to spell out messages, "VOTE ROWLEY JEFFERSON FOR SOCIAL CHAIRPERSON." It took all night, and he went through about 20 markers. Moreover, he got to school early and gave each kid who was willing to wear this shirt. However, when he got into the gym, he can't read the messages because a line is in disorder!!
After all, thanks to Greg's help, all candidates INCLUDING Rowley won the election!
I think most kids improve themselves through a lot of experiences in school days like this story. Looking back, I could improve not only the academic grades but also experience social life simulatively. So I think school takes on very important roles.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid : The Third Wheel3

Today I read a ballroom dancing.

Greg started a ballroom dancing unit in PE. His teacher Mrs. Moretta said that each of you needed to find a partner and you have to choose partners by writing down the name of the person you wanted to dance with on a little slip of paper. This was the same system she used LAST year for square dancing unit, though, and he totally got burned.
Greg wrote down the name of prettiest girl in his class, Baylee Anthony. But she didn't write down his name and wrote down Bryce Anderson, just like every other girl in the class. Bryce ended up picking other girl, and Mrs. Moretta assigned her to be his dance partner because he picked her. At first he was so excited he got Baylee as a partner. But she said "I didn't pick him". He had to deal with this kind of nonsense for three weeks.
So, in this year he was paired with boys because there are a lot more boys in his class than girls and it made sense that not everyone got a partner. Although he was a little disappointed that no one wrote his name on one of those little slips of paper, he finally enjoyed a ballroom dancing.

I really enjoyed reading this story. And this story reminded me my elementary school days.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Third Wheel 2

     Hi! How was your weekend?
Today I read about Greg's brothers. He is the middle child of three brothers. When he was a baby, his family were living in a really small apartment. So he had to share a room with his brother Rodrick. Rodrick got the crib, so for the first few months of Greg's life he had to sleep in the top of dresser drawer! Afterwards, he got Rodrick's old crib, and Rodrick got a new bed. Since then, almost EVERYTHING he had back in those days was a hand-me-down from Rodrick.
After several years, his mother told them she was going to have another baby. Do you remember last week's my blog? If you haven't read yet, please check it out:-) Greg also talked to his new brother Manny with a microphone. He told "THE UPSTAIRS BATHROOM IS MINE!!"
I think it's true younger child is given hand-me-downs. And It was interesting Greg drilled Manny in "The upstairs bathroom is mine" when he was in his mother's tummy.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Third Wheel 1

Hi, everyone. How are you today? I started to read a new book because I finished reading JUDY MOODY. That title is "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Third Wheel". And today I read chapter 1. This story is about main character's diary. His name is Greg Heflley and he is a middle school student now. Luckily, he remember just about everything that's happened to him since he was born. Moreover, he can even remember stuff that happen to him BEFORE he was born. So he can write his daily life from before he was born to now.

When he was inside his mother's tummy, he could sleep whenever he likes. But sometimes his sleep was interrupted by strange noises from the outside. They were classical music! Because his mother wanted him to be genius she played it every day. Besides, she and his father often told him everything that was going on in their lives through a microphone. But she didn't NEED to use the microphone for him to hear her. It means, he was INSIDE her, so he could hear every word she said whether he wanted to or not!

This story was so interesting! It has a lot of humors. So I often chuckled at his episodes. Also, it has a lot of illustrations, so I can understand easily.
