Hi, guys. How was your weekend?
Because I finished reading Diary
of a Wimpy Kid last week, I started to read a new book. The title is “Anne of Green
Gables”. It was so interesting that I have read from chapter 1 to chapter 9. I have
watched this live-action movie, so I have known it roughly. Because of this, I can
read it easily.
Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert are unmarried
siblings. They live on their ancestral farm, Green Gables in Canada. Since Matthew
is getting too old to handle the farm on his own, they decide to adopt an
orphan boy to help him. He arrives at the train station and finds a girl orphan
instead of a boy. The orphanage sent the eleven-year-old Anne Shirley by
mistake. Anne is a talkative and happy girl although she leaded a poor life as
an orphan. Especially, she is so imaginative and likes to fantasy various
things. Her character fascinate Matthew, and he shyly tells Marilla that he
wants to keep her. Marilla hesitates at first, but after a trial period, she
agrees to let Anne stay on.
The most impressive thing in these chapters
was that Anne emphasize “E” when she introduce her name.
